7th Annual SARTA Tech Index

Sacramento, CA - February 17, 2010

For the 7th consecutive year, Delegata was selected by the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA) as one of the region’s top 50 high tech companies. The SARTA Technology Index™ is an innovative tool that measures the health of the regional technology economy by tracking 50 leading high tech and life science companies driving its growth. The SARTA Technology Index monitors the health and status of the region's technology sector. Just as the S&P 500 acts as a bellwether for corporate America, the SARTA Technology Index is a barometer of how technology companies in the greater Sacramento region are performing. SARTA distributed the following regarding the index and its latest growth.

2nd Quarter 2009

The SARTA Technology Index grew by 1.29 percent in the second quarter of 2009, moving up for the first time since September of 2008. Stock prices at regional publicly-traded companies were mixed, but grew on average.

In addition, employment numbers stopped their 12 month downward slide, showing a net increase of twenty three (23) employees across the private companies on the Tech Index. Venture capital investment activity continued, but at a significantly slower pace relative to both the previous quarter as well as the dollars raised by startups during the same period in 2008.

About the SARTA Tech Index™

As part of its mission to foster high tech entrepreneurial growth and attract private investment capital to the greater Sacramento region, SARTA has developed an innovative tool, the SARTA Technology Index™, to monitor the health and status of the region's technology sector. Just as the S&P 500 acts as a bellwether for corporate America, the SARTA Technology Index™ is a barometer of how technology companies in the greater Sacramento region are performing.
Today, there are national and international indices of technology companies, but to our knowledge, this is the first regional index ever to be developed. The Index includes public and private technology companies headquartered in the greater Sacramento region.
The numerical value of the SARTA Technology Index™ is based on a proprietary formula that tracks three financial metrics: revenue, employees and equity capital raised. The Index was set to 100.00 at its initiation and is updated on a quarterly basis.
