Making the 2006 Sarta Index

Dear Kais,

I want to congratulate Delegata for earning a place on the SARTA Technology Index for the 4th Quarter, 2005. As one of the region's top fifty high tech companies, Delegata is a leader helping to drive the growth of the greater Sacramento technology industry.

4th Quarter 2005 Tech Index: Analysis

At 161.61, the Index was flat over the last three months of 2005, mostly due to a decline of 6% amongst the publicly held firms. Of the public companies, only International DisplayWorks stayed in positive territory. It is interesting to note that if the six publicly held companies on the SARTA Tech Index were to be taken out of the equation, the Index (read: private companies) would have shown growth of approximately 1.97% for the quarter. This outpaces the DOW (1.4%), S&P500 (1.6%), Russell 2000 (0.8%) and the U.S. economy (Bloomberg News: 1.6%) overall for the same time period.

Points of Note:

• Private company revenue grew by almost 13%, to $554.3M. Private company employee count also moved up by 2.3%, to 3,196.
• Of the four companies added to the Index, three were graduating SARTA Companies To Watch:

• The fourth startup is semiconductor play Akros Silicon.
