Delegata Supports the 7th Annual “A Call for Unity” Event

In partnership with the Sacramento News & Review and the Interfaith Service Bureau, Delegata proudly supports the 7th annual Call for Unity event. Call for Unity is an anniversary event in remembrance of the September 11th tragedy, where people from our diverse community meet to bridge boundaries through music, song, and shared words of peace and understanding. This year performers included: Grammy Award-winner Mary Youngblood, the Sacramento Youth Choir, the Freilachmakers Klezmer String Band, Spiritual Life Center Choir, and interpretive Muslim Sufi musician Lua Hightower. Net proceeds from a Call for Unity benefitted Sacramento Habitat for Humanity.

The Sacramento News & Review and the Interfaith Service Bureau were pleased to announce Reverend Dr. David Thompson as the recipient of the 2008 Building Unity Award. Reverend Thompson has long been a prominent figure in spreading the message of tolerance and acceptance through his establishment of World Wide Listening which celebrates listening respectfully to people of different beliefs, being an active member of the Interfaith Service Bureau and as the head of staff at Westminister Presbyterian.
